The Lord's Day - Worship Services
Worshipping Together During COVID-19
Heavenly Father, In these strange and uncertain times we thank you that you that what you have given us in Jesus is neither strange nor uncertain. What a wonderful gift you have given in your Son, Emmanuel, God with us, who is like us in every way except sin. In Him we know you, and are ourselves fully known. For this we praise and thank you Lord. Again, for the certainty we have in Christ Jesus we praise you. What could be more uncertain and scary than death? And yet, what enemy could have been more roundly defeated when, by your hand when Jesus stepped out of the grave. For all the many ways you guard us from fear and direct our steps, we lift a grateful hallelujah. Receive now the praises of your people offered in homes around this city and around the world.

Prayer of Confession:
God confess that we have not lived our lives the way that you have called us to live them, righteously and boldly in Jesus Christ. Instead we have lived lives where we have toyed with sinful behaviors and thoughts. We have lived lives where we have been more afraid than bold. Loving God, forgive us we pray. Give us new growth in sanctification, and stout hearts ready to live speak and act boldly for the sake of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen
Assurance of Pardon:
Hear and Trust in the Good News of the Gospel; in Jesus Christ we have a sure and unceasing pardon for all of our sin, both now and forever. Amen
Passing the Peace:
Take time to text one or more Church members, "The Peace of Christ be with you!" and when you receive such a text make sure to text back, "And also with you."
Offering ourselves to God

Prayer for Illumination: Lord we petition you on behalf of the one who preaches this sermon, and those that hear it. Let every human mistake and error in the preaching be fleeting and forgotten, but let every word spoken in agreement with your written Word be heard as Your own voice speaking to your people for the sake of their obedience, and their comfort, and Your eternal glory. This we pray in Christ name. Amen

The Lord's Day Worship
Holy God, In raising Christ from the dead you demonstrated your power over sin and death, and today we gather in spirit, if not in person, to praise you for work and victory in Christ. Look with favor upon your Church, and to that extent that we seek you earnestly, bestow your favor and your presence upon us. Receive now, the worship of your people. This we ask in Christ name. Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN
Just and righteous God, forgive us for the many ways that we have sinned and fallen short. We have done things we should not have done, we have said and thought things that we shouldn't. God we have failed to love you enough to do your will, and to trust in your provision. Forgive us God, not because we deserve it but because Christ does, and we have staked all our our hope Him. Unite us again to the death and resurrection of our Lord. This we pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Ghost. One God forever and ever, Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
the Bible assures us that as far as the east is from the west, this is how far God has separated us from our sin. Hear and trust in the good news of the gospel, in Jesus Christ you are completely forgiven of your sin. Amen.
PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
Lord we ask that you open our hearts to hear and receive your word read and proclaimed this morning. Give us ears to hear it, minds to believe it, hearts to be changed by it, and lives to live it. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
SCRIPTURE TO BE READ:
Holy God we know that you are in charge not only of everything that is happening now, but of everything that has ever happened or will happen. This is why we can trust you, and this is why we praise you.
Father we lift up those who have been personally effected by this disease and those around the would who continue to be indirectly effected. In particular we pray for your church who in many places are prohibited from meeting together. Keep them strong even while apart.
In our congregation Lord we lift up Diane and ask that you be with her body mind and soul. We thank you for what a faithful witness she has been before us and pay that you might grant us many more years of her faithful witness for your glory and our joy.
We lift up Ben and Martha and pray for Ben's quick recovery, and Martha's comfort as she is unable to be with her husband now. Console them both in and through your Holy Spirit that may be assured not only of each others love, but also of our love for them and your love for them.
Balm of Gilead, we ask now for your healing on Garland. His diagnosis is scary, but you call us away from fear and into a deep and abiding trust in you instead. Heal Garland we pray. Comfort Linda we pray. Use your church we pray to be your hands, and feet for Garland and Linda.
All knowing God, you know the concerns of those whom we have not spoken. You know them intimately and well. Hear them now as we offer them in silence...
