Meals on Wheels
This program is managed by the Meals on Wheels Council and relies on volunteers for weekends and holidays. There are over 300 individuals in the county that receive meals through the program. The Men of the Church have been sponsoring this ministry on Memorial Day for over fifteen years. Please make your plans now to help. Invite your family and friends to participate in this ministry to our local community as well. A sign up list for volunteers is posted in the Narthex.
Please contact Michael Coleman, 262-8771, or e-mail email@example.com, if you have any questions.
Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network
Assisting Families Facing Economic Hardships
Windermere has participated seventeen years in the Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network, a ministry to provide temporary housing for families who are willing to meet the programs criteria and are willing to set goals to solve their housing needs. Windermere has been one of the churches who have supported this mission with people and gifts since it was started in 1996. Walt Griffith has been the leader and director for organizing the dinners and over-night stays that Windermere provides. Since the beginning, over 75 percent of the families who have entered the program have graduated into permanent housing.
